Short story submissions must combine elements of either Science Fiction and/or Fantasy with the current theme: The Year 2065 – “50 years from now. What do you see? What can you see? We’re looking for stories set in the year 2065: your dreams for the future, or your nightmares, or what you believe are realistic expectations. These choices are not mutually exclusive.”
Upcoming Themes (Sub only after the first of the month, deadline is the end of the month)
- June: Sport – “Futuristic, historical, magical, high-tech. Let the games begin!”
- July: Anticipation – “Anticipation can be a wonderful thing, but also suspenseful, intense, painful, terrifying – and all those together. Life gets put on hold while you hurry up and wait. Some people don’t handle waiting well. And some people relish being on tenterhooks.”
- August: They – “This is about pronouns. We want stories that feature, examine, explore, and celebrate the many and varied human genders. We want submissions about trans* people, including people of nonbinary and/or fluid genders, and agender people.”
